Features

How to use

  1. Set up a shared calendar
Enable iCloud Calendar on your device. In Apple Calendar, create an iCloud calendar, invite each family member’s Apple Account, and allow editing. Each person accepts the invitation using their own Apple Account, then selects that calendar in HOME CAL.
  2. Choose your calendar
In HOME CAL settings, tap “Choose from Apple Calendar,” allow full calendar access, and select your shared calendar. This permission enables viewing and editing events. No in-app sign-in or separate HOME CAL account is needed. You can try the local demo before choosing a calendar; demo events are not automatically added to iCloud.
  3. Add your plans
Tap a date or the add button, enter an event title, select a category, and save. New events are saved as all-day events. Include any time in the title, such as “1pm Shopping.” Existing timed events keep their times; use Apple Calendar to change those times.
  4. Print when you need to
Use the print button to choose a month and paper size, then share or print the PDF. Direct printing requires an AirPrint-compatible printer or another printing option supported by iOS.

Frequently asked questions

Does everyone use the same Apple Account?

No. Each person uses their own Apple Account. Share an iCloud calendar and allow family members to edit events.

How are colors and outlines shared?

HOME CAL settings are stored at the end of event notes. HOME CAL shows only your regular memo text. When editing notes in Apple Calendar or another app, keep the block marked “Do not edit below.” Event settings are shared with the calendar. Category lists and personal category preferences are managed on each device, so customizations may make colors or names differ between devices. A daily emoji is stored as a separate all-day event and may appear as an event in other calendar apps.

Do changes appear immediately?

iOS handles iCloud syncing. Changes may take time to reach other devices depending on connectivity and device state. Calendars stored only on the device are not shared; choose your shared iCloud calendar.

How do I stop using a calendar?

Choose “Stop using this calendar” in settings to return to the demo. Revoke calendar access in iPhone Settings. Use Apple Calendar to manage sharing or delete calendar events.

My calendar is missing, or I cannot edit events.

Allow full calendar access for HOME CAL in your device’s Settings. Confirm that the shared calendar appears in Apple Calendar and that you have permission to edit it. Then refresh the calendar list in HOME CAL settings. View-only calendars cannot be selected.

Changes have not appeared on another device.

Check the selected calendar, iCloud Calendar settings, and internet connection on both devices. If Apple Calendar also shows older data, wait for iCloud to sync. Refresh HOME CAL after the change appears in Apple Calendar. Refreshing HOME CAL reads the device’s calendar; it does not confirm that every family member has received the change.

Can I cancel just one recurring event?

Yes. Choose the option for that occurrence when deleting it. To stop the series from that date onward, choose the option for this and future events.
